    Description

FAG Ball Joint (Suspension / Steering)

Genuine FAG ball joint engineered to OE specifications for precise steering control and correct suspension geometry. The ball joint connects the control arm or steering linkage to the wheel hub/knuckle, allowing smooth articulation while maintaining accurate camber and toe under load.

    What’s Included

Please check the product photos for the exact contents supplied with this item. If you’re unsure, contact us with your VIN/registration and we’ll confirm what’s included and the correct part for your vehicle.

Note: New nuts/bolts, circlips, pinch-bolts or boots are supplied only if shown or stated for your specific part number.

    Key Features

    • OE-matched taper, thread and housing dimensions for direct fit
    • High-strength ball pin and precision bearing surface for long service life
    • Sealed, maintenance-free joint with robust dust boot to keep contaminants out
    • Corrosion-resistant housing and stud finish
    • Engineered by FAG (Schaeffler), trusted OE supplier

    Types (Check Your Application)

    • Lower / Upper ball joint (position specific)
    • Bolt-on flange type vs. press-in type
    • Integrated into the control arm (arm must be replaced as an assembly)
    • Pinch-bolt knuckle clamp vs. tapered stud with castle/nyloc nut

    Check Before You Buy

    • Vehicle position: left/right and lower/upper
    • Stud taper & thread (nut type, length, seat style)
    • Mounting style: bolt pattern for flange type, or diameter/shoulder for press-in type
    • Whether your vehicle uses a separate ball joint or a complete arm with integrated joint
    • Verify by VIN/registration and FAG/OE part numbers for guaranteed fit

    When to Replace

    • Clunk/knock over bumps, vague steering or wander
    • Excessive wheel play or MOT/inspection advisory/fail
    • Uneven tyre wear or unstable braking/turn-in
    • Torn dust boot, rust contamination or grease leakage

    Installation Summary

    • Support the vehicle safely and remove the relevant wheel
    • For tapered studs: remove split pin (if fitted), undo nut and separate with the correct puller (do not hammer the stud)
    • For pinch-bolt types: remove pinch bolt and spread the knuckle carefully; avoid damaging the seat
    • For press-in types: use an appropriate press/service kit; clean bore and align correctly before pressing
    • Torque all fasteners to OE specifications and fit new self-locking nuts/pins where specified
    • Alignment recommended: check/adjust tracking (toe) after replacement

    Good Practice

    • Replace in axle pairs for balanced handling
    • Inspect control arm bushes, tie rods and anti-roll bar links at the same time
    • Never tighten bonded rubber bushes with the suspension hanging — set final torque at normal ride height

Warranty: FAG suspension components are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty when supplied via authorised distributors. Correct installation and alignment are required for warranty validity.

    FAQ

You can enter your Vehicle Registration Number on our homepage or manually select your vehicle details. We will then filter the parts that match your vehicle. Always double-check the Product Properties section to confirm correct fitment.

Yes! We’re constantly expanding our product range and catalog. If you can’t find the part you’re looking for, please contact us. We work with several manufacturers and may be able to source the part for you.

Many product pages include a Fitment Details tab with additional information. If you still have questions, feel free to use our message service — we’re happy to help.

Parts do not come with additional items like fitting kits or gaskets unless it is clearly specified in the Part Details section of the product page.

Brake Discs: Most standard brake discs are priced individually, but for safety reasons, they must be purchased in pairs. When required, we will automatically set the quantity to 2 in your basket.
Brake Pads: These are sold as a set (either front or rear), so one box is enough for two discs.

The Compatibility Table can be found on each product page, usually below the main product description. Look for a tab or heading labeled Compatibility.
